About the Artist

Artist Statement

Art is a lie that makes us realize the truth.  — Pablo Picasso

In my work, I explore the intersections and tensions between form and color, dark and light, movement and stillness, representation and abstraction. I focus on familiar objects, landscapes, and cityscapes and concentrate on their essential elements, often taking them out of context  and then rearranging them to invite the viewer to see these objects and scenes in new ways. My inspiration comes from as close as the objects on my desk to as far away as the stars in the sky.
